Shawn P. Williams launched the highly acclaimed blog Dallas South in June 2006. The blog sought to change the way African Americans were portrayed in the media. Dallas South has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CNN, NPR, BBC, and in The Chicago Tribune, Ebony Magazine, and other national outlets. In 2009 Shawn helped organize Dallas South News, a nonprofit hyperlocal news website.
